What this is
Our Love Letters is a private website built by one person for two people. It is not a commercial service. Nothing is sold here, no payment is taken, no advertising is shown, and there is no way for anyone else to sign up.
These terms exist because a site that talks to Google's APIs ought to say plainly what it is and what it promises. They are short because there is not much to promise.
Who may use it
Access is limited to two named accounts, created by hand. There is no public registration. If you have reached this page without one of those accounts, there is nothing here for you — the letters, photos and everything else are private and stay that way.
Your writing stays yours
Whatever either of us writes or uploads belongs to whoever wrote or uploaded it. Building and running the site does not create any claim over its contents. Nothing written here will be published, shared, sold, analysed, or used to train anything.
Using it decently
The only rule that matters between two people who trust each other: don't use it to hurt the other person, and don't try to break it on purpose. Since the site can send email and write to Google Drive on the owner's behalf, don't use those in ways the other person hasn't agreed to.
What is not promised
This is a personal project maintained in spare time by one person. It is provided as is, with no guarantee that it will work, stay available, or keep your data safe from every possible failure.
Concretely, and honestly: it may break. It may be offline while a hosting provider has problems. A feature may stop working after a change. Data could be lost through a bug, an accident, or a failure at Supabase, Vercel or Google. There is no backup schedule, no uptime target, no support queue, and no compensation if any of that happens.
Anything here that you would be genuinely sad to lose should also exist somewhere else.
Services this depends on
The site runs on Supabase and Vercel, and uses Google's Gmail and Drive APIs. Their terms govern their parts of it, and if one of them changes what it offers, a feature here may change or disappear with it. There isn't much to be done about that from this end.
Ending it
Either of us can ask for their account and everything in it to be deleted, at any time, and it will be done by hand — see the privacy policy. The site itself may be taken down at any point; it exists because it's wanted, not because anyone is owed it.

How data is handled — including data from Google APIs — is set out separately and in more detail in the privacy policy, which is the document to read if you only read one.
Changes
If any of this stops being true, this page and the date at the top get updated.
